About Us

Keystone Impact Solutions is a proud member of 1% for the Planet and the Stripe Climate Initiative. We also provide in kind support to Echidna research at the University of Queensland and Animal Rescue Services in Hervey Bay, QLD.

Welcome to Keystone Impact Solutions — a fundraising and impact consultancy grounded in science, systems thinking, and a deep respect for the people doing the work on the ground.

The name Keystone comes from ecology. A keystone species is one that plays a crucial role in keeping an ecosystem stable — not by dominating it, but by supporting the conditions that allow everything else to function and thrive.

That idea sits at the heart of our mission.

Our beginnings

Our founder, Dr Jess Hodgson, began her career as a conservation ecologist, working in research and mission-led organisations where funding pressure, reporting demands, and limited capacity were a constant reality.

Again and again, the same pattern emerged: passionate, capable teams doing critical work — while struggling to keep up with grants, impact data, recognition, and donor communication. Not because they lacked commitment or expertise, but because the systems behind their work were stretched too thin.

Over time, it became clear that fundraising support isn’t just about securing money. It’s about creating stability — the kind that allows organisations to plan, adapt, and stay focused on their mission without burning out the people holding it together.

Keystone Impact Solutions grew from that realisation.

How we work

We believe that:

  • strong missions deserve strong systems behind them

  • fundraising, data, and operations shouldn’t exist in silos

  • clarity reduces pressure — and pressure shapes decisions

  • thoughtful, hands-on support can change what’s possible for an organisation

Our role is not to take centre stage, but to strengthen the foundations — quietly, carefully, and with intention.

What we do today

Today, we provide end-to-end fundraising and impact services for non-profits and purpose-led businesses, including grants, awards, fundraising operations, data analysis, and donor email marketing.

Sometimes that support is project-based.
Sometimes it’s longer-term.

In every case, the aim is the same: to do the work well, connect the dots between systems, and make fundraising and impact work feel more manageable and less reactive.

Why Keystone?

Like a keystone species, our work is about stability over visibility.

When the systems behind an organisation are strong, everything else has room to thrive — people, programs, partnerships, and impact.

That’s the work we care about.
And that’s why Keystone Impact Solutions exists.

Working together

If you’re doing work that matters — and you need thoughtful, reliable support behind the scenes — we’d love to hear from you.
