From Reporting Overwhelm to Operational Clarity for

Tenkile Conservation Alliance

Sector: Conservation & Biodiversity
Engagement: Ongoing operational support and impact strategy
Services: Fundraising operations, impact reporting, automation, communications support
Location: Australia & Papua New Guinea

The starting point

Tenkile Conservation Alliance is a conservation organisation working to protect critically endangered tree kangaroos and support community-led conservation initiatives in Papua New Guinea.

When the organisation’s leadership came to Keystone Impact Solutions, they were under intense operational pressure. Essential annual reports were overdue, manual tasks consumed valuable time, and scattered systems made it difficult to focus on strategic conservation work.

The challenge wasn’t commitment or expertise — it was capacity.

The challenge

The organisation was facing compounding operational strain:

  • overdue annual reports and compliance documentation

  • time-consuming manual administrative tasks

  • limited bandwidth for strategic conservation leadership

  • fragmented systems draining focus and energy

The COO didn’t start a conservation organisation to spend her days buried in paperwork — but the operational burden was beginning to overshadow the mission.

The role

Keystone Impact Solutions stepped in to provide ongoing operational and impact support, working closely with the team to stabilise systems, complete critical reporting, and streamline day-to-day operations.

The focus was not just on “catching up”, but on creating sustainable systems that would reduce pressure long-term and free leadership to focus on conservation outcomes.

What we delivered

  • Completion of three outstanding annual reports

  • Development of a formal booklet for the Papua New Guinea Government

  • Ongoing support for compliance and reporting requirements

Systems & Automation

  • Automation of repetitive administrative tasks

  • Streamlining internal workflows using AI and digital tools

  • Reducing duplication and manual effort across operations

Communications & Fundraising Support

  • Support for online shop content and communications

  • Improved social media and supporter engagement

  • Strengthening internal clarity around priorities and workflows

The outcome

The impact was both practical and deeply felt.

Operational outcomes:

  • Annual reports completed and compliance restored

  • Time-consuming tasks automated and streamlined

  • Clearer systems supporting day-to-day operations

Organisational and personal outcomes:

  • Significant reduction in operational overwhelm

  • Greater clarity on priorities and responsibilities

  • Leadership bandwidth reclaimed for mission-critical conservation work

  • Renewed energy and focus for the work that matters most

Client feedback

She has been working with us for six months now and we’ve seen a real boost in our shop sales and socials, as well as completing three outstanding annual reports and a booklet for the PNG Government.”

— Jean Thomas, COO, Tenkile Conservation Alliance

Jean describes Keystone Impact Solutions as:
“Reliable, knowledgeable, outstanding.”

The bottom line

Before working with Keystone Impact Solutions, Tenkile Conservation Alliance was weighed down by overdue reporting, manual tasks, and operational complexity — leaving little space for strategic conservation leadership.

Today, the systems behind the organisation are stronger, clearer, and more manageable.

The operational burden has eased.
Time has been reclaimed.
And the focus is back where it belongs: protecting biodiversity and supporting conservation on the ground.
